The ARISE Initiative was given the opportunity to deliver a brief presentation at the Global Health Network Café (TGHN) on Thursday 5th December 2019.

You can learn more about TGHN by visiting their website. TGHN Cafés are monthly group gatherings for Scientists, Investigators, Project Managers and Scientific Professionals to speak and learn about ongoing projects and activities.

During the meeting Raleen introduced the ARISE Initiative aims and key objectives. Emphasis was given on the achievements so far and plans for the future. As Bola was one of the pioneering ARISE secondees she delivered a brief and lively presentation. Above all, it covered the focus of her secondment, outcomes achieved and her implementation plan to achieve the ARISE objectives.

Furthermore, the talks generated some interesting discussions and identified potential joint areas of work in relation to pregnancy and maternal health care. As a result, the group enjoyed learning about ARISE Initiative and were glad to have us as part of the group.

The ARISE team plans to continue to work in collaboration with TGHN and attend future meetings to learn and share research ideas, best practices and methodologies.
